Found the source of the noise in the cobra.......

Well after believing I heard the knock coming from the tranny, I pulled it today, and low and behold....

I always use the Oilite Bushings and never had that problem.......bearings seem to fail frequently and sometimes even grab the input shaft which makes for some real FUN!!:eek:

Lubrication maybe the issue

I don't know that you can blame that failure on the bearing. The way it is wedged in there, I would guess the trans was forced/pulled into place when not lined up correctly, initially. That would be awful strange to get wedged like that just from the bearing failing.
