Completely agree.

If I were Cadillac, I'd go balls to the wall on Antonelli. He's just on a 1 year with Mercedes. They could bring him in as the #1 and Perez would be #2.
Cadillac does not have the bank to land Antonelli.
No way in hell Mercedes lets that kid walk.
You don't walk into F1 as a new team and just get who you want or even run in the top half.
You are going to struggle for at least 2-3 years.
Toyota entered F1 and was spending over $300 Million per year and did not go anywhere and eventually, after having spent close to a Billion left the sport.
Good luck Caddy, you are going to need it.

Hell Ferrari hasn’t been able to stop stepping on their own dick for the last 17 years…. Mercedes and Redbull have dominated

I think the cost caps and redesign will cause a much closer field for new teams than in years past.

Caddy is paying each team $45M ($450M total) just for the privilege. That's before any other expenses. They definitely have the "bank".

I think they are serious about this.

I think so too. It'll be interesting that's for sure. I think they have the ability to be a strong midfield team out of the gate.

Games are already being played. Caddy's official acceptance wasn't granted until after this last driver transfer cycle closed, so they missed out on recruiting drivers.

Welcome to F1 new guy lol!

Once again, both their drivers finished the race on the podium but a very good performance and result for Russell to get P2.

Especially with George's brake and DRS system failures!

I don't think they will.

Sadly, Americans just aren't set up to be successful in F1. The karting scene in the states is peanuts compared to overseas.
Interestingly, I saw an episode and actually watched the full two hours of Lake Speed talking to Dale Earnhardt Junior on YouTube. What a fascinating interview and I didn’t know that Speed was the World Karting Champion in 1978. Interesting story of an American rocking to the top of the charts in Europe, in karting though- not F1.
Met a Scottish driver named Stevan McAleer around 2011 who was working at a place called Grand Prix New York where we took our daughter (who was eight at the time) to do some indoor gas powered kart racing that she was interested in.
Long story short, I got the fever and ended up buying a CRG Road Rebel kart for me and a cadet ( junior) kart for her. Myself and three other dads rented OVRP karting track for half of a day with McAleer as the instructor and got there in time to watch Santino Ferrucci practicing in his kart -this is around the time his father was about to buy the track or had just purchased it.. Nice kid with his big mop of a blonde head of hair. It was a cool time and the story continues on after that, but ultimately I was out of my league financially. The other guys I befriended were cool as could be, but their pockets were much deeper than mine going forward- two of them being Wall Street management types. Last I checked, their daughters have MX -5 race cars and take private lessons at Monticello Motor Club. Anyway, I was told that day to watch for Ferrucci because he was going places and sure enough even though there’s a sordid story or two to tell he seems to be holding his own for now in Indycar. I didn’t mean to drone on,but that dredged up some pretty good old memories for me. Personally,in F1, I’m hoping Sainz can make something happen with that Williams and make them all look like fools midfield.

Hope everybody that celebrates it and could enjoy it with their families had a Happy Easter.

Will these two win any race together? It doesn't look likely at the moment but you never know.

Newey is working on the 2026 car...

So maybe if Fernando is driving for them haha I wouldn't be shocked if it were a Verstappan/Fernando team next year.
