I can see a "BOSS 429" Mustang fitting nicely between the premium Mustang GT 5.0 and the GT350/500, big gap in there and a BOSS 429 would be perfect, the factory drag pack model that many as myself would LOVE to see Ford produce!!!

Bingo. Give it the option of a TR6070 or a 10R80 and release it upon the streets.

It would seem simple. Give it the DI I mentioned above and an aluminum block. The aftermarket can figure out the rest.

I’m really excited about this engine. We’ve been looking at F-250’s to pull the horse trailer but the 6.7 is overkill. This would be a perfect fit.

No way Ford is sticking this in a Mustang. None.

And people keep saying "Mustang swap potential" yet i haven't seen more than maybe one or two 6.2L swap and they have been in junkyards for quite some time. Everyone and their mother has a swapped Coyote motor now.

This is not going to be a hot ticket swap item. I just dont see it. Its too easy to stick a 5.0L Coyote motor into something versus this unless the market drastically changes.

I hope i am wrong and the big block returns in a Mustang but im not holding my breath.

I'm with you on this, the Coyote just makes so much power so easily.

From a road course perspective, I like the idea of big NA power. I do not however, like the idea of a big iron block hanging over the nose... Not to mention the fact the mustang is already a pig these days. Any hopes of this going in a mustang would need an aluminum block, but I just dont really see it fitting Ford's current MO either way. Not with everyone wanting a "hot V" anyways, gonna have to pick one or the other, and a 4.0L TT V8 will probably win out over the 7.3L NA every day of the week.

YES!! Does anyone know if this is going to be a modular bolt pattern or is it going to share the same one with the 6.7 diesel?

I'm hoping the 7.3 eventually get duel fuel systems and 11-12:1 compression.

The 6.7 PSD uses the Modular bellhousing pattern. So I'm pretty sure the 7.3L will be the same.

Not even close to what ford can provide. In fact kinda disappointed with gm 6.6. There current 6.2 makes more hp in there light duty truck.

Correct, just a small block. I prefer the old Vortec 454 over the 8.1.

Why is that? What was the down fall to the 8.1 over the 454

I'd love to at least see this available as a crate engine. But would like to also see a special edition Mustang with it.
I'm now dreaming of a twin turbo version for one of my Faoxbodies.
