Ford VCM2 with IDS

Has anyone used/bought a knockoff Ford VCM2 device and used it with IDS? I found the Ford site were you can buy a 72 hour IDS license for only $22.

I have a couple uses for it, one being to program a second key to my terminator. My dealer wants $100+ to do this.

If you have used a knockoff VCM where did you buy it from?

Here's what I have. I think it's a POS, but it does work. If just using it as a pass-thru you shouldn't have any issues.

Why go with that one? It seems for a little more you can get the Chinese VCM clone.

Does all the same in a smaller package. I also needed it to be wifi since my router is upstairs. Think the one I found was $80 so I figured I'd rather have $80 junk rather than $160 junk lol. Either way it did the job that I needed it to do and if I need it again I'm confident it'll get it done.

I've used a Chinese clone one from EBay with no issues. I've reprogrammed PATS and programmed an additional key for a couple of cars.... Worked fine.
