[QUOTE="Mackie, post: 16619837, member: 4738"] I think Ford’s EV strategy of starting with broader appeal iconic brands like the Mustang Mach e and the F150 Lightning is the way to go, affordable and leaning toward performance over economy (much like the eco boost ICE powertrains). Ford also has a very solid foundation with commercial van and the e-Transit is poised to do very well in that market space. The GM EV600 seemed to be a knee jerk reaction to Ford’s announcement. I also think we’ll see some innovation with collaboration with VW, Rivian, Argo and Google. I thought it was odd to see GM promoting the Lyriq, years away, during the Super Bowl and then 1 week later they quietly unveil the refreshed Bolt, as if embarrassed about the present. I see Ford innovate with an all aluminum bodied 1/2 ton and then 5 years later GM runs their commercial about a gimmick tailgate ad nauseam. This was their ‘answer’? How many times will Camaro come back from the dead then flop again? Sorry, I want to believe, but I look at old GM thinking, their current stagnant product line, the 41 year ‘career veteran’ CEO and nothing convinces me new or exciting, including CGI productions, leather jackets or nifty branding for outgoing lithium battery tech.
