But the majority? I doubt it. They are mostly used as DD/tow/workhorses etc.
I never said Majority. You said 'None', I pointed out an example here on this site, as well as my own.
How many Lightnings do you think went to the drag strip every day?
Not sure. But I'd be willing to bet more people drag race/road race with their $35k Lightning, than people actually off-roading with their $65k Raptor. (Not leisurely driving down an unpaved road)
My L mostly holds down the concrete in my garage.
Hmmm... I'd like to take a shot at what they call it.
Ranger DR (desert runner)
Is that the undercarriage option from Mike's Car Wash?
Word is that the Ranger will have a Diesel option, which is pretty sweet.
I wonder when we will hear more about it?
They announced the Ranger at NAIAS last year, I wouldn't be surprised if we saw a prototype this year.
It seems that not many people know that the Ranger has been in production overseas this whole time, and yes it's offered with a diesel, and yes there's a model that is a tamed European version of a "Raptor" but it's called the "WildTrak." All that Ford U.S. will do is carry over cues from the production Ranger for the "new" American version. Do I believe it will be better than its Colorado/Canyon/Tacoma/etc. competitors? Absolutely.
Did a quick search for Ranger WildTrak. FAR too mild mannered for what the market is looking for. I want to see something that can legitimately compete with the Colorado ZR2. I want wide-body fenders, outlandish hood ventilation, O/R light mounting points, and knobby BFGoodrich All Terrain T/A KO2 tires. Make it wild.
the ford sport trac adrenaline with the terminator motor concept, just saying...
Where have you been? Still have the Aston?
been back in the states for a few years now, 3 year old son and 1 year old daughter now
started getting the bug again and looking at pulling the trigger on a orange fury gt350, so i figured i would pop in here and get caught back up..lol..
got rid of the aston a few years ago for a audi for the wife
Nice. Good luck the 350 Fury!
Anyone heard anymore about a release date for the Raptor?
Ford won't even tease a raptor in the US until the ranger comes back because it would undermine the sales of the new truck. Anyone who wanted a 4x4 ranger would just get it but if you have any sense, find out the raptor is coming, and don't absolutely have to buy a new truck you're going to wait. I wouldn't be much loss but it would have some impact for sure. It would also potentially take sales from the F150 market, so you'd be affecting two products with a special version of a truck that isn't a fiscal success yet.
That's why you won't hear anything official until the ranger is back 100% and on lots.
