I killed my T-45 and I'm in the process of swapping in a T-56. 10 years ago I had a 03 Terminator and the Ford racing TOB was the one to buy. The guy I bought the T-56 swap from said the TOB is now made in china and not worth the money...

Is it true? if so what kind are most people using???

The Ford TOB is still a popular choice, install with confidence. I used a Mcleod TOB with my RXT clutch, no issues.

The land of commies and socialists!
I actually have 3 TOB in my possession.

One on my old TR3650 that I know is a FRPP HD unit that was bought 5 years ago.

One on the T56 I just bought.

The last is a new piece that came with an old exedy clutch also purchased 5 years ago.

The ONLY difference I can tell between the 3 is the one on the T56 has a slightly different angular cut on the outside. Other then that they are the same thickness and outside diameter.

When I did that last clutch job 5 years ago I ordered a FRPP HD bearing only to find it looked identical to the one that came with my exedy clutch. There was a bit of grease on each with the same blue tint. The ONLY difference was the boxes. As far as I could tell they were one in same save for the FRPP unit costing more than double. I ended up tossing in the FRPP piece since I couldn't return it.

Maybe at some point there was a genuine difference between the cheapo pieces and the FRPP HD unit. Now days as far as I am concerned one place in China makes them to be rebranded.

I think so too, the guy I bought the trans from said "just buy one from advanced auto, it will be the same but half the price"

Thanks for responding

Yup, in 192k of daily driving these cars, I've tried them all, but to me they're really all the same. Longevity depends upon correct setup and adjustment. Now I pretty much just buy the cheapest ones I can find. FWIW.
