Ford Performance offers a potent upgrade for turbo-four S550s

Back in July we broke the news about Ford Performance Parts’ trio of Power Packs for 2015+ Mustang GTs. These ranged from a hotter calibration to a complete package of intake, cold air induction, throttle body and calibration. Today FPP revealed that it also offers a new calibration and cold-air combo for the EcoBoost Mustangs.
“Ford Performance Parts is a key part of our product strategy,” Doug White, Ford Performance Parts manager, said. “Mustang is all about performance, and we know our customers look to us for performance options that are both 50-state-compliant and warranty-friendly.”
Included in the new Power Pack for 2015+ EcoBoost Mustangs (PN M-9603-M4; $699) are a modified Shelby GT350 cold air intake, a Pro Cal 3 calibration interface and a calibration voucher. You can purchase the CAI separately (PN M-9603-M23; $399), but it will require some form of calibration to function properly and the FPP calibration makes it CARB legal.
“The Ford Performance Mustang EcoBoost performance calibration kit for the 2.3-liter EcoBoost engine boosts peak torque 70 lb-ft for a total of 390 lb-ft of torque, along with a peak 25 horsepower gain for a total of 335 horsepower,” says Ford Performance.
Beyond the beefy peak gains, the FPP Power Pack pulls over 100 more horsepower at 6,000 rpm. Likewise, it is the under the curve gains that impress. The free flowing intake and hotter tuner deliver and average gain of 40 horsepower and 60 lb-ft of torque from 2500-5000 rpm. As the rpm climbs into the 5,500- to 6,800-rpm range those average gains swell to 75 horsepower and 64 lb-ft of torque.
Available for both automatic- and manual-trans EcoBoost Mustangs, these Power Packages retain a limited warranty when installed by a dealer. The automatic versions include optimized shifting, and either will allow installing up to a 4.09 rearend gear ratio.
EcoBoost Mustang owners rejoice, you can now purchase a warranty friendly Power Package from Ford Performance Parts that delivers peak gains of 25 horsepower and 70 lb-ft of torque.
The EcoBoost Power Pack includes a modified GT350 cold-air intake (M-9603-M23; $399), but this unit is available separately. It meshes perfectly with factory turbo induction for an easy installation. When run with the FPP calibration it is CARB legal, but it must be run with some kind of calibration.
