I am not a stock guy, but before Motley fool recommended Ford stock, I used to buy Ford at ~$7 and sell Ford at about ~$11+.
    $7K became ~$21k+ in 3 or 4 trades.

Ford could be a good bet to place...but a gambling bet all the same.
    Good luck to all!!

"Inside the company, some executives have taken to asking Mr. Hackett’s chief of staff, Clare Braun, to clarify his comments or diagrams following a meeting, say people familiar with the matter. Mr. Hackett said Ms. Braun understands how he operates and often attends meetings in his place when he is unavailable.

She previously held the role of “visual sensemaker” at Ford Smart Mobility, an innovation unit experimenting with car-sharing programs, self-driving ventures and other non-transportation alternatives that Mr. Hackett ran for about a year before becoming CEO.

He called Ms. Braun a “reverse mentor because of her age,” who keeps him in touch with “how someone who is still under 30 would be thinking.”

Read that and let it sink in. Part of a WSJ profile. The CEO of a large manufacturing firm that sells $140 billion worth of metal annually has his top executives asking a 30 year old girl with a degree in English that previously held the title of "visual sensemaker" what he's asking them to do. She often attends meetings in his place. And they were willing to admit this in a public profile in the largest business publication in the U.S.

    Invest away.

    WHISKEY TANGO FOXTROT???

Honestly, I don't even know how to process that article.

@DBK I had heard grumblings about Farley when I was getting started at Lexus training. Apparently he would go to the Lexus Western Area on occasion and shit on everyone if he was in his bad Jim mood. Apparently was known to try and shit on the technical guys too. No love lost when he left Lexus.

Wow. Those articles are very eye opening, but most of us have been calling for Hacketts and Farley’s firing for over a year now.

Also, as someone who has a nice chunk in the stock market and has owned FoMoCo stock in the past and dumped it for a profit, i will simply say this:

You are a goddamn fool if you buy this stock, and an even bigger fool if you recommend it as a buying option.

This company is absolutely ****ed until they make significant changes, and even then it will be an uphill battle.

I mean, we’re talking about a guy who hired a ****ing furniture salesman to head up his car company. Lol. Total ****ing dunce move. Bill is an absolute joke.

The reality is Ford stock is up 24% YTD, 32% if you include the dividend yield. Bronco and upcoming BEV will be 2 huge products for Ford. Electrification is coming quicker than most thought and will create a growth market for Automotive. The Rivian joint venture and VW to lesser degree could prove pivotal.

'Experts' have been calling for a falloff in auto sales for the last 5 years but instead they have been going up. And this is for ICE vehicles obviously.

Wallstreet loves to shine the spotlight on Ford's 'restructuring plan' and Hackett. They were walking down Fords share price long before this while ignoring the aluminum F-series success. All while pumping up Tesla.

The truth is GM/Toyota/FCAU/VW/Audi/BMW all are going though 'restructuring' for electrification/autonomy. Do you think this comes free?

Average age of car in the US is 12 years old. There are 1 billion ICE vehicles in the world today. ICE vehicles will be the flip-phones of tomorrow like it or not.

The potential is obvious to me and Ford stock (and to a lesser degree GM stock) is a no brainer buy.

Ford's decision to drop all the cars is gonna really bite them in the ass if we have another situation that drives gas back into the 4-5 dollar per gallon range.

Agreed, I remember everybody was dropping their SUVs and trucks in favor of smaller fuel efficient cars

The Bronco should have been released by now and I doubt it will make any impact on the stock price. Take a look at Ford's EBIT profits, which are nothing to write about. In fact, they have been on a decline for years now. If Trump didn't reduce Ford's tax bill, it would be even worse!

To think that ICE vehicles are going away is, quite frankly, hilarious. The take rate for EVs are so low and half of that market share is to Tesla. Without the government heavily subsidizing electric cars or forcing automakers to make them, they would not be around. Finally, auto sales have been declining and long term financing is plauging the industry. The only reason Tesla has a high stock price is because it is treated like a tech company, not a car company.

Interestingly enough, this greatly impacted my decision.

If I had taken the 2018 F150 back to Ford, bitched and complained about it, they would've eventually said fine, here's a 2019/20 F150 to replace it. Which I didn't want. Felt like it would be the same rodeo. So I was of the mindset lets just get a new baby wagon for the wife, and I'll take her old car..

Except the Focus DCT is junk, and Ford doesn't make anything comparable to the Civic/Corolla/Elantra now. I was pretty my SOL.

Traded the 2018 F150 headache truck for a new 2019 Civic Sport for the wife with all the bells and whistles, and she loves it. Got it from Hendrick so they eventually threw in Autoguard (ESP) and maintenance for a smoking deal. Saving a couple hundred a month with her in that, me in her old car (2012 Elantra limited lol). I'll get another truck eventually, just not new, and probably a 7.3

I'm getting ready to do the same for my Son. Ford has the Eco-Sport and Escape, YEAH RIGHT!?!?!?

We waited way too long for the Bronco, and now have a 2020 Jeep Gladiator. I have a feeling they released the Bronco to insiders this past winter and the reaction was horrendous. Hence, the further delay. (this was a replacement for our 2016 Ford Explorer Sport)

I was getting ready to replace the 03 Cobra with a GT350/350R, possibly 2020 GT500. But ADM's and the drop of the C8 has halted that. So yet ANOTHER possible sale lost to another company.

So me, a "single " consumer who has bought a TON of Ford vehicles, may fill a triple vehicle purchase within a year to other manufacturers.

I am EXACTLY who Ford should be concerned about as I guarantee you there are many many like me.

Its sad really. It seriously saddens me.

You'll be more saddened when your C8 gets GAPPED by a MY20 GT500.

Because of the limited supply and ADM on the GT500, it won't matter. A GT500 will only walk a C8 if the owner is willing to pay mad ADM, wait a century for it to show up, battle with dealerships, and deal with Ford's poor quality processes/lack of forethought. Then the car will show up, and it'll walk a C8.

Meanwhile, stvdman will be walking into a Chevy dealership, buying his car for MSRP or less, and leaving same day.

There's something to be said about that entire scenario that really damages the blue oval brand.

With all due respect. A base C8 is no different than a PP2 Mustang GT, that you can walk in and walk out with same day.

The MY20 GT500 will be like the Z06/ZR1 when they're announced.

But hey, while we're comparing apples to asparagus', I'm going to made when the GT500 comes in and it won't tow my race trailer like my F-350 does.

    Right?

It's hilarious how people think the GT500 and Corvette are competitors.

Seems counter intuitive and a bit ironic that you said this then where you compared a C8 to a GT500:

"You'll be more saddened when your C8 gets GAPPED by a MY20 GT500."

If you're saying a base C8 is not comparable to a GT500, then sure. Lets compare apples to apples. A Z car will destroy a GT500 and I have very little doubt it won't, even without published numbers. The Z06/ZR1 of all vettes are generally much faster than the fastest mustang of it's day.
