He had an auction where the bids quickly ramped up to $3000, then he killed it with 6 seconds left obviously because he didn't get what he wanted. He had no reserve on the auction, to lure bidders.
Dirty pool! He likes to play games. He's also operating outside of eBay rules by doing what he did.
