The final installment of the Focus RS RX series details its testing

For several weeks, Ford Performance offered a behind-the-scenes look at the Focus RS RX driven by Ken Block and Andreas Bakkerud in the FIA World Rallycross Championship series. Titled Project RX, this four-part video series covers the development and testing of this hot-hatch racer. That video series comes to a close today with its final episode.
“This project has been probably the most dynamic involvement of my team in a car like this,” Ken Block, of Hoonigan Racing Division, said. “Trying to race at the highest level of the sport and doing it with factory help and with a race shop like M-Sport has been incredible.”
The series kicked off with a look at the Design & Development of the RS RX and showed how Ford Performance engineers worked with Ken Block and the team at MSport in developing this rallycross racer. The second video detailed the construction of the chassis and the assembly of the car. The third installment covered the engine, drivetrain, suspension and other details that make this car work.
Today the series wraps up with a look at the vehicle’s testing and the team expectations…

Though the documentary series is over, the RS RX still has plenty of races left to compete in, and the new racer has already made one podium finish and three final appearances. Andreas currently sits sixth in the championship points standings as the series heads to the Hell Circuit in Norway this weekend. For more, check out the full schedule of events here.
