As if there weren’t already 350 reasons to want an all-wheel-drive ride like the 2016+ Focus RS, Ford gives you one more—the RS Adrenaline Academy. Like many of its Ford Performance vehicle predecessors, the company’s hottest hatch comes with one more special feature for its owners. It’s a complimentary, one-day Ford Performance Racing School class to teach you how to maximize its capabilities.

“The RS Adrenaline Academy celebrates the introduction of the Ford Focus RS to the United States after the best-in-class hatchback took Europe by storm the past few years,” says the school. “The Academy experience is included with the purchase of every 2016 or 2017 Focus RS. Qualified owners are invited to buckle-up for a complimentary high-performance driving experience with lots of time driving Focus RS on the racetrack!”

While the full information about these schools hasn’t been released yet, they are expected to follow a similar path to the ST Octane Academy schools given to owners of Fiesta ST and Focus ST. These included classroom sessions; on-track lead-and-follow sessions; on-track instructor ride-alongs; on-track hot laps; braking/corner exercises; skid-car exercises; UrbanX practice and timed sessions and a Kart race to wrap up the school.

“The RS program is built on our tried-and-true Ford Performance Racing School format. All day, every day, we are a racing school. That means all you speed addicts will have more than ample opportunity to see what a Focus RS can do,” the school says. “This adrenaline driving experience is built to put a smile on your face and have you begging for more. Oh, and if you'd like to share the fun with a friend, family member or significant other, bring them along! We guarantee they'll have a good time too! We encourage it!”

Having experienced the FPRS and Boss 302 Track Attack ourselves, we can’t recommend this experience highly enough. The registrations aren’t quite open yet, but you can sign up for the newsletter here to be informed as soon as it’s time to register. Undoubtedly the classes will fill up quickly, so you will want to stay tuned. You will also want to consider adding the paid upgrades to extend your stay at the school. Once you complete the first day, you are going to want more track time.

With all-wheel drive, 350 horsepower and 350 lb-ft of torque, the latest Focus RS packs a lot of performance into a small package. Fortunately, you can learn how to best use all it has to offer at the RS Octane Academy.

The new RS features four driving modes—Normal, Sport, Track and Drift—to help you dial in its performance for the situation. To dial in the driver, you’ll want to take advantage of the RS Octane Academy.
