I like the seats but I feel like I must be the only person alive that really hates those headrests.
I'm doing my best not to take that personally haha! You are nuts. Hopefully everyone hates them actually so the price doesn't keep getting driven up and up as the years go on and they just get more and more rare.

What's the part number or model name of those recaro seats?

Recaro LX-C. C is for the extended knee bolsters. The ones that came in the Saleen were LX with the solid base, you can still get those from Recaro, they're called "specialist" I believe. The tan they offer looks kinda like parchment and is a horrible match for saddle though unfortunately.

So our manual sliders bolt right up to the s197 seats?

Sent from my LG-H900 using the svtperformance.com mobile app

Yes use the manual seat racks from 94-04

So center up the SN95 Tracks to the 197 seat frame as center as u can and DRILL. I used very large self tapping metal screws but you could use bolt/lock nuts or even tack them up. Bolting then in should be straight forward,

If you need help you can always message me.

I don't mind paying a bit more, or taking a little extra time for shipping. My concern is solely with matching the saddle tan interior color. Without seeing the seats in person, I'm terrified to spend $1000+ only to have them stand out like a sore thumb because the tan is a few shades off.

The set the OP installed are a near perfect match for the stock interior. If there's a source that has numerous sets of the same color, or potentially just a set name for the color that I can keep an eye open for is what I'm looking for.

Your best option is to purchase the seat you want then and take it to a competent automotive upholster locally. What you want to do is see their sample materials and bring your car, go around the interior with the sample to see how it looks compared to each area (all are slightly different shades of "saddle" the plastic console, the dash which is painted, the leather, the vinyl on the back of the seat, the vinyl on the door, the carpet).

Especially after 20 years everything fades at a different rate. I sent the seat restoration guy in poland that refurbished these a small piece of vinyl cut from under the seat and I also cut the top off of a saddle colored push pin from the kick panel that has seen basically no UV.

Anyways just FYI to do this locally I was quoted about $1000.00 per seat to recover the seats and do any reasonable foam repairs. Beware of low ball prices and make sure you see the sample material, the cheap leather out there with the fake heavy grain and tons of plastic sealants on it will really ruin the look of a seat like this and won't match your interior well.

Exactly the way to do it. This is defiantly one of those times that it does not pay to cheap out. You truly get what you pay for. Do you have photos of both seats installed yet? I am really loving the look.

Woah those look AMAZING. Can you clarify because it's Friday and my attention span is shot... Did you have those seats reupholstered in matching leather or did that particular seat happen to match the saddle interior?

There are no seats on the market that are made, especially in leather, that can match Ford "saddle" tan interiors.

These Recaro seats are originally cloth, restored and recovered in nappa leather hide, in Poland, and shipped to me.

I sent samples of the saddle color to Poland. I chose the pieces in the car that I could find that still had the "richest" color to them and had NO UV exposure.

Whatever you buy will have to be reupholstered. Hope that answers your question.

Funny how I've had this seat out a few years back so I know what it looked like under this seat.. and since then one of my passengers spilled a coffee or coke or something and NEVER said ANYTHING!! lmao wow.

Went to work scrubbing, vacuuming, had to grab the garden hose and combine it with my shop vac to do a poor man's carpet extraction.

Not perfect but much better.

Got the seat on the sliders and bracket. This one really fought me hard.

Hopefully moving to a bigger place soon. My girl is probably getting sick of me using the living room as a workshop lol!

I remember way back in the day living in an apartment and using my dinner table as a work bench since I didn't have a garage or workshop, lol. I built several motors in that old apartment, good times.

YES! A man after my own heart. The dinner table makes an excellent workbench. Mine has cutting oil and metal shavings on it now.. :/

Man those seats look great, I'd love to get rid of my power driver seats for a manual setup but I'm worried about the seat height lol, I'm short so I raise the seat up to it's highest level, anyone have trouble with visibility with manual seat tracks?

These are the type of sliders you use in that situation. Wedge also makes the brackets to fit these sliders. The seat guy sent me these even though I told him 6'4"... anyway I cut and drilled them to fit the flat slider brackets. You can make the seat sit pretty high if you want to.

Hate to bring this thread back, but wanted to ask which sliders you're using? They don't look like the typical double locking Recaro sliders. I just bought a set of LS-D Recaros and using Planted Brackets, just need to source some sliders to use. I was going to order the double locking Recaro sliders, but yours appear to be more low profile then the ones I've been seeing.

Hey man, no problem I did a ton of searching to try to find out what exactly they are for you since I got them used with the seats and there aren't any markings or decals. You may be correct as they were originally the height adjustable style but I cut the vertical tabs off and drilled them to fit the Wedge brackets. I'm still considering trying to cut and weld the bracket to get the driver seat even lower, this may be the an option for you depending how everything fits up.

As far as I can tell from my research they are for 911's. They looked like the picture below labeled #2 before I cut the tabs and re-drilled them.
