My first time at the track here at Topeka drag way on Friday night.
Couldn't get a grip at all; it rained Monday-Friday morning and it was the grand opening, so no real rubber was laid down.
Put my rear tires (275/40 NT555r) at 27 psi and best I could muster was a 2.1 60 ft.
Slippery doesn't begin to describe it.
Not to mention every gear shift my tires broke looose, (even 3-4).
I'll wait until some more runs are made done the track and bringing DRs with me next time.

Forgot to attach the slip

Friend's girlfriend took a rough video from her phone. Listen to the tires break loose during the 3-4 shift. That's how slippery the track was. Horrible. Im in the far lane, near lane is a S197.

I'm wondering why the MPH is low. What were the shift points?

Yeah, i cant seem to shift fast enough, hence why im ordering a MGW STS.

1-2, 2-3: 6500

3-4: 6200

Should I change it up? First time with Mach 1, so still learning the shift points and launch.

A set of drag radials will be your best investment.

Oh, I am in 100% agreement with you, that along with an MGW STS and I'll have some fun.

Im am chalking it up to first day of the track being opened, first time with the mach, learning shift points.....oh, not to mention the 3/4 tank of gas I had. I know, I know, but it was a last minute invite and last I heard the track wasnt going to be opened due to it raining all week and that mornng. Go figure

I love my MGW with the Hurst pistol grip in black. I'm picking up my used 65mm BBK TB this week. Can't wait!

mph seems low mine had similar mods with the 5 speed and was trapping 108-110 as was a buddy of mines again with similar bolt ons.

elevation is roughly 400' above sea level

Doesn't he already have 555r's? They are still drag radials, just not as good as the other options. 27psi is way too high to expect anything decent. Drop them to 15-18 and heat them up enough. Don't dump the clutch and expect them to hook either.

Im sorry, I mean I have NT555 extreme ZRs. My bad.

I am going to get some NT555R for my 10.5s AFS machs soon.

FYI, had to login to M1R to see track slips... Might try attaching them here? or hosting elsewhere.

Regardless... your 1/8th times seem way off... how bad were you spinning? a 2.1 60ft still should have gotten you a mid 8 in the 1/8th and a 13 something pass.

Continous spin through first, spin halfway through second and then catches; every gear change it breaks the tires loose (not bark them). It was horrible.
