What all was done to your 6R80 when it was built?

I am currently "noodling" out what it would take and the $'s to go auto. I'm currently running a magnum XL and the 6R80 is very tempting, but the labor $'s associated with the swap are preventing me at this point.

Trans has Exedy clutches and billet intermediate shaft, paired with a Circle D 1c torque converter. I also run a PA deep pan and dss carbonfiber DS with ds loop.
I removed all the manual parts/trans at home and sold it all before buying the 6r80. Then trailered the car to Bill Wise at BAperformance in Silver Spring Maryland. He went through the trans, completed the swap, installed return fuel system and did the initial datalogs with Lundjr prior to me picking car up and driving it home!

Just an FYI, if you run in d, once you get into 4th, just pull it back to s and it will stay in 4th

Thank you for the input! But I already picked up 331s. With me staying on 93 pumps gas and cars power level, I think 331 will put it in the sweet spot. I know other guys like Sal, run the 3.08/3.15 but they are also big hp cars. I am just looking to keep it at the top of 4th through the traps and not hit tires so hard on the launch.
Hopefully it will a little more manageable on the street ;-)

Yes it is becoming a more common mod as more people/tuners have made the swap a easy transition.

I finished the Vmp Gen3 install last night! I’ll be making a install directions/input thread later. I made no changes to the power side of things. Still same 72mm Tb, Jlt 123 and 93 octane. Blower has a 2.7 pulley to match the gen2r 2.4 pulley (18-19lbs).
Video attached of first start up!

The next project for the weekend is to swap in the 2014 GT500 cluster and steering wheel buttons. After that I will be taking the car to BAperformance for 331 gear install.
Lund jr has already sent me the tune revision for the blower and gears change, so I’ll ride on the gen2r tune till gears are in.

Looking forward to see what she does at MIR come March/April.

If you don’t mind me asking did you ever get it on a dyno with your old combo? I have almost a identical setup minus a different TB and was curious the power numbers. With 14lbs boost mine made 570hp with 649 ft lbs torque on a mustang Dyno. Thinking of upping the boost and changing the TB.

Taking my car from 3:31 to 3:15s made a big difference when it came to tuning the trans "with Lund". We started with 3:73s and ended up at 3:15s.

I have almost the same setup but use a kenne Bell twin 75 and have a ported lower intake. I put down 722 sae on a dyno jet. At 17#. Added a degree of timing for the boostane tune and jumped to 750 sae. Need to drop a pulley to get more power.
