The traffic just kills me down there.
We've stayed in Surfside/Garden City several times, I've never noticed the traffic to be any worse than any other place down there personally. 544 gets codded up, but there's several roads to avoid that.
Agreed. The only time I find it bad is Change Over day (Saturday) other than that, it is the same as every where else. But change over day the traffic sucks everywhere from people coming or going to the beach. I try to plan my arrival time for the morning hours to beat the traffic.

This big difference is the amount of time you have to spend in the traffic traveling to the events.
This is why I stay in Central/North Myrtle. Traveling to the events is easy unlike down South.
