I'm trying to purchase a long gun from a man in Ohio and he's nervous about shipping to my FFL even though it's legal. Can anyone help me facilitate this? Lives near "Sandusky" I believe.

He doesn't even need to go through an FFL to ship. Only need an FFL on the receiving end. I tried explaining it to him and I can understand his hesitation as it's a rifle he inherited.
Did he say why he is worried? Maybe find a link from the ATF's site showing that shipping to an FFL is THE legal way to do this.

have him call the Gun shop that you are wanting him to ship it to. they will be glad to clear up any issues or worries he has.
simple as that.
Sounds stolen. If it's legit have him check your FFL through https://www.atfonline.gov/fflezcheck/. Hope it works out for you.
If he's that worried have him ship FFL to FFL for peace of mind. It will cost more though
If he's nervous about it, then just have him pay the $35 or whatever to drop it off at his local FFL and have them ship it to your FFL. That should resolve any hesitation on his end.
