been checking around for the fattest tires for my ride.
it's looking like 325/50-15 ' s on 15x10 w/ 7.50 backspacing.
anyone have pics of this setup?
anyone have a better idea?

The 325/50-15 ' s will stick out past the wheel well. The 295/55-15's are a better fit & what I run on Weld RTS 15X10's.

A 325 wide tire on a 10" wide wheel won't have a proper foot print for traction. The tire will be making more contact in the center of the tread and not enough on the sides of the tread. 295 is as wide as you should go for proper fit with a 10" wide wheel.

Mine with 295/55/15 and 10.25" wide Weld RTS wheels

Truth.

My GT500 with a 325/50/15 on Racestar 15x10" 7.5" backspace wheel wore out in the center of the tire, while the outsides still had some tread life.

10" wheel = 295mm tire maximum for proper contact patch. OP, hindsight is 20/20, don't make the mistake I did.

Op, a 295 is the "proper" size to run on a 10" wide wheel, but you CAN run a 305-315 if you choose. I am running a 305 555R on my AMR 20x10's.

good info.
so a 295/55-15 on a 15x10 wheel
is the back space 7.5 or 7.25? ive seen different people run different backspace. I want to keep it as tucked as possible. but if the tire sticks out a hair I wont care.

Guess you tire experts should give Mickey Thompson a call and advise them of your vast contact patch knowledge, because they actually recommend a 325/50/15 on a 9" wheel, up to a 12" wheel.

Because only the newer barrel designs of the RTS, and Racestar wheels allow clearance of modern day brakes in a 15" design. The old school Weld Prostar and Draglite wheels in a 15" diameter do not have the inner hoop clearance of the newer wheels designed for cars with disc brakes. They will not fit on these cars without drag brakes.

Just because it says you can put that tire on a 9" wheel on some web site, It doesn't mean its the optimum fit.
Don't believe me. Waste your money and try all the different sizes on the 10" wide wheel. After all the different tire sizes are used, you'll see the 295 is the winner.
A 325 wide tire on a 10" wide wheel isn't going to out preform a 295 wide tire on the same wheel. The 295 will be the winner because the foot print has a larger contact area.
I have 35 years of car racing experience. I might have some knowledge here.

Getting ready for a game change. I will keep my 20"tsw wheels and h&r springs in the garage.
Looking to get the cobra jet springs and fats/ skinneys for a while. I'm looking to maximize my current hp (around 400ish) and se t the suspension to handle about 800hp launches. All in preparation. .......

Only reason I asked I see a lot of cars throwing huge tires on and they don't have a good suspension setup.
A good suspension setup and 275s should do the trick.
