exhaust size requirements 2.5" or 3"?

im looking to upgrade my exhaust within the next two weeks. going with ARH 1 7/8 headers. undecided on the cat back diameter. idk if i should stick with 2.5" or step up to 3". im looking to trap ~135, so +600whp. i dont plan on making anymore power/further upgrades (yeah right..)

im worried the mac 3" w/o cats will be super loud and that the power gains arent worth the aggrivation and monies. ill take a hit for a lil bit of power if the car sounds exactly the way id like it to with no fittment issues. just looking for some opinions/experience at this power level and etc.

IMO 1 7/8" was too big for your application-but regardless 2.5" exhaust is more than adequate for 600 hp

well i havnt bought em yet, but i should be well over 600whp..

i was advised by a good source to go with the 1 7/8" and 3". the headers i agree with, ill be throwing lots of boost at it, but the 3" i wasnt sold on. i was hoping someone making about 650whp went from 2.5" to 3" and could tell me their experience doing so.
