Went trolling in South Texas once when I was stationed there. At the time I had a Twin Screw 04 Cobra with about 600 at the wheel. This Gold 4 door Nissan Maxima with 3 people pulls up and wants to go. I blew him off but he insisted. Time to blow his doors off...didn't happen. We hit it at 40 and I let off at 140 and he was 1 car behind me. Apparently built with twins....so yeah.

Back in the day we used to go to Ft. Wayne on Saturdays. They had a lot for muscle cars and then the imports were on the corner of Coliseum at a Jiffy Lube I think it was. We'd street race and all. There was a red foxbody notch with turbine wheels on it, I didnt race it but watched someone else race it and when they launched, the fox yanked the tires.......I was like holy s**t.

My little 04 GT was somewhat of a sleeper back in the day. Looked mostly stock but ran 10.8s at @ 128 back in 07-08 time frame. Wasn't the fastest car ever but was a strong runner in our area back then. There were a handful of Ferraris, Lambos, and corvettes that I got their feelings hurt.

On the other hand there was a rust bucket CRX that pulled up beside me one day and wanted to play. I blew him off until he finally annoyed me enough to bite. Well he put a bus length on me from 30-120. I was shocked to say the least. I gave him a thumbs up but never got to find out what he had. The was the only sleeper than I ran into that put a hurt on me.

Two of them. Both when I was on the Eaton making 460ish.

1: Subaru Legacy GT: Guy was on my bumper waiting for a shot to get beside me. I'm thinking it's another bolt-on Subaru so maybe 300ish whp. I was wrong. Guy made me work for it from a 40 roll. I won, but only by about a car. Turns out he was built with a bigger turbo. Don't recall the size.

2: Acura RSX: Same scenario as others have mentioned where you just get annoyed and finally give in. 40ish roll. My thinking was he's definitely got me in terms of power-to-weight so even if he's only making 350ish, he might keep up. On the flip side, that 350whp has to go through the front wheels so I'll be long gone before he hooks up. Well, yeah he spun, but he never left my side. Took it up to about 100 and I had maybe half a car on him. I gave him a thumbs up and he gave me a big ass cheeser grin. lol

I had a regal GS smoke me in my slow ass fox body at the time. I think I had a cat back exhaust and a cold air intake it was like year 2000 and I pulled up on a 98 or newer Camaro and we got ready to go from the light. Light turns green and the camaro pulls a few lengths and I look over and this dam GS that started behind me got over and is now passing my ass with two dudes in it laughing their ass off as they blow by me on the Camaro’s ass. I didn’t know anything about them at the time. I don’t know how fast they were stock but this one was much faster than me.

Half ton 4 door Chevy that was kind of a POS. It had a topper on it with a ski rack and a bent factory exhaust tip.

Turns out he had turbo 5.3.

Took literally everything my 2012 GT had to keep a bumper ahead of him from 0-105. We pulled up to the next light, I rolled down my window and yelled "what the hell man?!"

He thought it was funny, truck had run like 8 mph faster than my car at our local track but on that particular day his transmission was slipping pretty bad so the mustang stood a chance.

Back within the first few years of having my 07 GT500 I ended racing someone in an F-Body Camaro. He told me it had "450 horsepower". My GT500 put down 540hp at the wheels. We were talking at a car meet and did a highway pull, he beat me by literal bus lengths. I'm talking seriously AT LEAST 2 buses. Got back to the meet and I said "only 450hp huh?" he just said "yep". Never understood why people lie if you're not racing for money or something.

I had a DSM back in 99-00 that went bottom 11s at 126-127. It routinely beat up on most new model muscle cars. Ford and Chevy had nothing on it.

2003 came around and the terminator guys thought they were hot shit. Nope. My dented, beat up pile of trash DSM was in the 10s by then and made the termi boys look silly.

Good times.

When I was stationed in Corpus about the same time as initial story there was a black Honda CRX hatch that had over 800 to the wheel. Needless to say he killed about everyone and there was very little if anything still stock. You can make anything fast with enough money.

Got worked the **** over by a damn Neon in my KB blown 2V. Similar situation as the others here. Guy kept screwing with me until I decided to lay into it. This thing was nothing short of a scraper with bad paint and a dented roof from the hood flying up. As soon as he shifted and I heard the BOV I knew this thing was legit. He put 2 cars on me from 40 to 100ish. Turns out it was SRT-4 swapped with a bigger turbo, upgraded intercooler and a bunch of other stuff I can't remember. Cool guy though.

Back when my GT had a vortech the car was kind of a sleeper since the exterior was 100% bone stock. Pissed off a guy in a Porsche once by staying within a car length up to 100. He flipped me off as he jumped on an on ramp and mouthed "**** you". It actually made my day. I also pissed off a few S197 GT's who thought they were going to beat up on me because they thought their cars were faster.

My boss told me a story about when he was in Seattle ages ago and belonged to a Subaru club. Him and several other people had run up against a PINK GEO Metro! Not a single person could touch the guy, he raped everyone he came across by multiple car lengths. Nobody ever ran into this guy during the day, only at night and most agreed from what they could tell he was wearing a wig as a disguise. I laughed my ass off when he told me how bad this dude gapped him in his modded STI.

I guess you could call it a sleeper...Back around 2004 I was headed home one night in my stock foxbody. Coming off a light there was a black honda civic on my door. I don't remember who antagonized who, but before I knew it he jumped on me and buzzed out to a one car lead and held it until we shut down. Props to the owner, wherever he is.

I owned 2 my 2003 Trilogy supercharger kit, stroked 5.0L, with 4.10 rear gears Merc Marauder with 428 RWHP which hurt a lot of R/T Challenger and Chargers, 1 SRT Charger, and a whole bunch of F body and 2010-14 Camaro's and then all manner of Mustangs from 1st Gen 1964-67 to 2012 GT and V-6 models I had the stock exhaust so you didn't know what I had until I punched it and you heard the Eaton scream to life. This car looked just like every other Marauder out there and that was what I liked about it.

And now my 2014 SS which so many people just think it's a Malibu or some other off brand FWD Chevy product. That is until the exhaust note changes and the punk in the Honda,Subaru, or what ever has that look of what the hell is this thing. Plans for it is to make about 500 RWHP and I would be happy as anything more and I would have traction issues and as they always say spinning is not winning.

I've always had a soft spot for both Marauders and especially the SS's. Good all around vehicle: Vette power, subtle exterior hints, room to put a few butts in it, and available with a man trans.

Yep, yours would be a sleeper; one hell of a sleeper! I'd have to call my '04 Cobra a "sleeper" as well. Beyond the motor mods (ported Eaton, fuel mods, Accufab TB, 2.80 upper, idlers, tune), catback and shifter, it had stock suspension, and factory wheels. So it looked 100% stock from the outside, which is why it really was a sleeper, not that the stock Terminator is a slug because it's not. But my Cobra ran 11.3 @ 123, so I surprised many a Vette, Camaro and more back then.

For a terminator to be a sleeper it would need to be over 1000hp. Nearly every Terminator should be expected to have either 500 or 600 at the wheel. Most are either ported/pullied with the stock supercharger or Twin Screwed. One of the few Mustangs I have no idea what could be under the hood at any given light. LOVE THEM!

Id say ANYTHING in Texas I would be terrified of....... cars are no joke down there! They like to think out of the box down there for sure.

I had a 64 Chevelle eons ago (mid to late 80's - early 90's) which was my first "Muscle Car." It was loud, obnoxious, and I loved it that way. A black Regal looking thing pulled up next to me and revved and even though mine was nothing special I engaged. That thing launched and left me like nothing else! That was the day I learned what a Buick Grand National was... ;)
