Saying ESPN is struggling because they don't have any content due to no sports being played isn't quite true. I only watch live sports on ESPN (no highlight or bullshit arguing and other political shit) so one would think that the reason they are struggling is due to the lack of live sports. But....I have watched a ton of sports on YouTube during the pandemic: A lot of old NFL playoff games from the 1980's and 1990's, the best games in Ohio State football history (I actually watched every game from the 1998 season except for the one we lost LOL), Lakers Finals games from the 1980's, Lakers highlights from the 1980's, Dan Marino's best games, Cleveland Browns games from the 1980's, games that featured Hakeem vs. Shaq vs. Robinson vs. Ewing. Hell, I even watched the 1992 Dream Team Olympic games. FFS they should just get a little creative and earn their money. Why not run daily polls and ask viewers to vote on what they would like to watch tomorrow and pick one game from each sport? So on Monday you could ask viewers what NFL game they would like to watch on Tuesday: Brady's tuck rule game (Oak vs. NE), The Drive (Den vs. Cle), etc. Repeat the poll with NHL, MLB, NCAA FB, NCAA Bball, NBA. Boom! You've got over half of your programming for the day and the viewers get to interact. If a choice isn't picked on Monday, it will appear in the poll again until it is chosen. FWIW, I have thought ESPN sucks **** for about 20 years. They literally are a cable news network. Absolute garbage. Although I still like PTI. I caught about 10 minutes of it the other day and those two are respectable people.
