Safe to say this thread is full of dissappointment. This pistion is out of my intake exhaust tune 5k mile car and looks like many other unfortunates around out there.
here is were the car was at power wise and AFwas between 12.8:1 13:1 if you scaled the graph out and the tune was SCT base file with the AF evened out basically

ya i was wondering about a warranty as well. no reason this should have happened at all unless the motor was crap or the tune was completely off. sorry to see this.

FORD not the dealer and they stated not enough drive cycles...must have had a tune. the car was back stock down to the paper filter...since they declined min i know of many that have had this issue and have gone in with mods and tune and gotten motors. after all the ford feild tech even said its a problem with the number cyl not being picked up , or seen as good by the knock sensors and aftermarket tunes not being prepared for it with extra fuel

The dealer did a compresion and leak down which turned up 190 on all cyl and 100 on # 8 and being a first year run under warrenty ford will tell them the next course of action, but instead sent a feild guy out because according to them this is becoming a bigger problem than most think

Never tuning my car. Never ever ever.

That sucks man. Mine is officially getting an axle-back no other mods, and is getting sold before the "Warranty" runs out that's for sure. I had such confidence in this motor but it's all gone now I'm afraid.

ford calls us everyday on warranty claims on new fiesta's and focus models.. Engineering wants details... The new diesel engines are the worst.. Mod a new diesel and pray nothing goes wrong with it. It's amazing how they've clamped down on warranty claims !!!!

one bad motor doesnt justify labeling all of them as bad motors. sorry for your luck.

mine has a whipple on it and is taking it just fine. Love every minute i drive this car

its definitely not one man i know of more people than i can fit in my kitchen that have lost number 8 this way.let me ask you this how many people do you hear of with the bad or rough idle issue... a ton and thats the only issue mine showed heck it didnt even make noise or smoke i could have traded it in lol heck there are 2 cars sitting at livernois (one shop) for new motors because of number 8 tuned by different places

One? Try dozens. Just a matter of pushing your luck with this motor from what I see. I want to be able to sleep at night so I refuse to mod anything under the hood whatsoever. I don't have the money to be doing 5k mile engine swaps. Lol.

I've read about several 'popped tires' with these motors, always the #8 'tire' when tuned so far. If I recall Ford took their tires off years ago... Firestone.

Several bad motors. There is another open thread at this very moment with the same issue. Also Google '2011 mustang cylinder 8 misfire' and you're going to see it's not one bad motor at all.
