If I wanted to buy a console but wasn’t sure if I was going to stick with it would you recommend waiting for the PS6 to be released and buy a 5? I would expect the price to crash. Or is this a foolish move?
I’m like 50-50 that I would stick with gaming at this point so don’t want to waste more money on shit I’ll never use.
I have a 75” Sony Bavaria 7 new from last year if that matters.

I would get the PS5 now, maybe a Pro, but I think they are almost $700. When the PS6 comes out within the next two years it's going to take a while to get one and you'll have to pay a premium unless you can score one from the online retailers. I ended up buying my PS5 privately from a guy who had a method for getting them when they dropped, but it cost me $700. I had waited to try and get one normally but wasn't having any luck so I said **** it and paid someone who had a new one. The PS6 specs are supposedly pretty impressive so it's going to be a hot commodity.

I haven't played Borderlands since the 2nd one I think, but it was a lot of fun since we had a large group who would all play together.

I would go with a PS5 now. I'm sure the PS6 will be crazy expensive. I've been an XBox owner for a long time, but will be going with a PS5 as soon as GTA6 drops.

As was said, Microsoft is moving all previous Xbox exclusives to PS5, and seems to be pulling back from any console war.

Yea, I'm no longer attached to the Xbox. When I do play, it's sports games, that aren't console specific and it seems like Xbox doesn't have any exclusive games worth buying anymore. Gone are the days of Gears 1-3 and Halo maybe up to Reach.
Now they all are bland or a new studio is making the games and they suck.

I was eyeing a PS5 pro at Costco, but just don't see the point right now. Found a series X during the insane rush a few years back, but was trying for the PS5 as well with no luck

Plan on BF6.
Had both of the Ghost of (some Japanese word) games on my list.
Havent beat Horizon.
Wanted the second one at some point.
Never finished The Last of Us 2 despite enjoying it for the most part.

I saw a couple of them and read some of the discussions surrounding them. Not a good look, but I didn’t too deep into all of it.

Most of the Nintendo stuff I play is glory day nostalgia shit I already have at the house, plus some of the virtual console stuff.

My list is almost identical to yours lol.

BF6 is my number one most anticipated game this year.

Ghost of Yotei just released yesterday and some of the reviews I was watching said it was amazing so far. I loved Ghost of Tsushima but didn't finish it. (PS exclusive)

Played both of the Horizons games but have yet to finish one lol. They are awesome but so long and tedious that I lose interest for a while until I get back to them. (PS exclusive)

Finished The Last of Us but stopped just before finishing the second one. They are amazing games but still doesn't keep my attention. (PS exclusive)

I have finished all of the God of War series and played the last two through twice now. Easily at the top with The Last of Us when it comes to storytelling and gameplay. (PS exclusive)

Finished Days Gone. Excellent underrated game. (PS exclusive)

Finished all of the Spiderman series which are probably one of the more fun games and now Insomniac is about to drop Wolverine finally which should be just as fun, but absolutely brutal looking in the recent trailer. (PS exclusive)

Finished all the Uncharted series and supposedly another is in development. (PS exclusive)

I've finished almost all of Gran Turismo but it never really ends. (PS exclusive)

Put a lot of time into Forza Horizon 5 which was one of the first Xbox exclusives released on PS and it's been one of the top sellers for Playstation. That game changed my mind on the Forza series and is well worth it, especially with a sim rig.

One that I have wanted to get into is Helldivers 2, but just haven't given in yet. That game came out of nowhere and has been crushing it. (PS exclusive)

My most anticipated upcoming game is going to be The Witcher 4 though. The Witcher 3 was my introduction to the series and I sunk so much time into that game. Not sure I can do that again but I won't miss playing the next release as soon as it drops.

When you look at all the Playstation exclusives and how good all those games are, it starts to make you wonder how Xbox fell off so hard. They have very little that could compete which is why they gave into cross-platform releases. Sony is raking in just as much so it's really a win/win for everyone.

A lot of those games extend all the way back to 2014 after I got out of the military, but those are the highlights and the ones with the most replayability.

The last big gamer thread we had here was the initial COD 4 Modern Warfare thread and we had a pretty big group of guys who all gamed together regularly on there. Most of them don't post anymore but @Outlaw99 was one of the few I can remember that still posts somewhat regularly.

I also suck for the most part now when it comes to FPS games. I used to be pretty good, but my skill got passed up quickly so it's all about having fun now.

I was looking at BF6 Phantom Edition but the game is online play only according to the game's website, so I'll pass. I suck at games against other people because I don't have time to devote to playing every waking minute to be any good.
