Electric Steering Assit Bad On Boss 302 and GT 500

My electric assit steering just quit working. I went to my dealer about the problem. Anyone else have this problem? The dealer told me that the electric rack-an-pinion on the cars with 19 inch wheels are bad and that FORD has issued a new one (a completly new part number) only problem is they are on back order to the end of May. It sucks driving with no steering! Let know how many of you have this issue. The parts mgr. said there was 428 on order 3 weeks ago when mine went out.

I have a 2012 GT500 and the same thing happened. I have the SVTPP with the 19 in front and the 20 in back. I don't think the issue is related to the wheel size. It is on the selectable steering, therefore the 2012 Boss and GT500. Mine went out March 5 and I got the car back May 10. I have a thread about my experience under the GT500 Forum. Just do a search and you will find it. If you are still driving the car, GO READ MY POSTS. Short story is that I got a rental and Ford made my car payments for the 2 months.
