Ive had mine deleted for a while now and just left the old extra wires there hanging. Can i clip them off? Or do they need to remain there. Just trying to do the extra tidying up i can while i have the engine out and can route things like i want to.

Clip em if you want. Just make sure you tape them up. If you think about it, a plug that is unplugged is the same as a clipped plug. They are both an open circuit. Just make sure the two (or however many) wires are taped so they don't touch.
I cut mine off a long time ago. As MTBsully said just make sure you tape them up. I did that and then hid them inside the injector harness so it's like they were never there.
