So in the spring i want to get an E85 tune for my 5.0......I also need to have a secondary tune in my car for gasoline because E85 isnt readily available in my area.

So if i get a tune for it how far will i have to run the fuel down in the tank before switching back and forth between E85 and gas or would i be able to get a single tune to adjust according on its own?

last question, why wasnt this car flex fuel in the first place?!

The car will still need 2 tunes. But since the 2011's run in closed loop all the time and have 2 widebands, I'm sure you don't have to worry as much with running down the tank as much.

Here's a 2011 tuned with E85. It has the stock fuel system, long tube headers, cold air, 4.10 gears, twin disk clutch.
Red = 93 Octane
Blue = E85

When I changed my first fuel filter after two weeks it looked like this. (2 tanks or so)

Then after a year and a half later I changed it again and it looked like this.

On a brand new car thats already running E10, I don't think you will have to change anything. I wouldn't.

I meant would it be "safe" at a half of tank of 93 octane to top off with e85 and change my tune or half a tank e85 and fill up with 93 and switch mine tune back to gasoline

or would i have to run the tank down farther

Sorry, I misread your post. I would run it down to 1/4 tank or so.

Thanks for the info, Im definitely doing this in the spring. We get vp racing fuel by the drum for our supercharged notchback.......i bet I can get a drum of ethanol for a good price for running around town. Im hoping E85 become available locally soon!

did not know this, very interesting! on a side note, what about say an 03/04 cobra with an e85 and 93 tune. would running the tank down to 1/4 be enough, or should you pretty much go till the lights on lol?

After talking with our tuner in northern CA, he says that the 5.0 already has a timing table for E85.
So tuning it should be cake for your tuner considering the car already has it ready to go.

PS: I say run it till the light comes on, then swap gas if needed.
