I dynoed the new engine last week. With Scott Hasty Tuning, it made 1101 rwhp and 839 rwtq at 20.9lbs of boost from the VMP Performance, Gen 3R.

It's very tame, due to the stock converter. Throttle response is razor sharp. Driveabilty with Scott's tune is a-ma-zing. This big throttle body drives/responds like a stock, twin 60mm GT500 unit.

Engine combination basics:
Gen 3, 5.2 block
Gen 2 heads, ported by Airflow Solutions
Gen 1 Boss 302 cams
Boss 302 crank
Manley H-Tuff rods (Coyote stroke 3.63")
Manley Platinum Series Extreme Duty pistons
11.3:1
JLT Super Big Air
VMP Performance 163R throttle body
Ported lower intake
VMP Gen 3R (Not Secret Sauce)
VMP Performance 8 rib belt drive
63mm / +5% overdrive pulleys
1-7/8" headers
3" X pipe
3" Vibrant Super Quiet resonators
2.75" Borla over axles
2.75" Kooks axle back
ID1300 injectors
Fore triple pump hat (274's)
-8/-6 lines
Ignite Red Fuel
6R80 transmission
Stock converter
Built by Fonzie @ Novelo Racing Engines
Tuned via HP Tuners by Scott Hasty

So bad ass. Im not looking forward to having to buy 1300's, but it appears if i want this type of power (i do), then it's time to sack up i suppose.

Sick machine sir!

Yea, it hurts a little bit. Ha ha. I think I'm going to let them be my stopping point. I've heard that ID1700's are too big for pump gas. I like having a tune for 93 as a backup and to switch over to before winter.

Thats smart. Running some pump through the system once in a while should keep it all from getting gummed up.

Thank you.

This was my fifth year on E85 and thankfully, it's always been super clean. I have some "best practices" that I follow though and they have served me well.

Just FYI - my car has ID1700s and runs fine on pump on low boost.

1700's work fine with pump gas as long as u have a good tuner. 93 pump is in my car 95% of the time. No idling or start-up issues but my previous tuner did tell me NOT to get 1700's cause they would not idle properly. Its non-sense ive had them in for over a year now and drives like stock.

Thanks!!!
