Does anyone know where to rent a trailer from that isn't U-Haul, Penske, or Budget?
This may be a hard request to fill, but i'm looking for a car trailer somewhat similar to one you would see at the track. For example, a diamond plated open trailer that is commonly seen. I have a friend that is willing to drive down to Florida with me to pick up a Fox, but I don't want to use a U-Haul, Budget, or Penske car trailer. Those 3 are basically the same trailer. My friend just bought an 86' GT a few months ago and rented a U-Haul trailer and it places a lot of the weight towards the front on the hitch and compresses the rear suspension down. It created the truck to look like this when hooked up with the car on the trailer. His truck is only 1 or 2 years old I believe. I've had issues with U-Haul trailers in the past as well when selling a car to a buyer who came and picked it up from my house. The trailer has these two tracks each tire has to follow and at the end is a very sharp and high increase where the bumper is supposed to roll over in order to tie it down, at least for that time. It appears Budget and Penske use the exact same trailer with these tire tracks the car has to follow to fit on the trailer. It wasn't that big a deal since my buddy picked up this car in VA and he lives in MD, but driving down to FL and picking up a trailer there and towing a car back that distance is something that concerns me. Are there any open style design trailers to rent? Thanks!
