So the new Hurricane Charger is almost 500lbs heavier than a Hellcat.

I guess that's a weight savings over 5,838lb EV version that has been DOA. I have yet to see a single Charger EV on the road or a dealer lot.

I sat in one last year Barret Jackson (vomit) and they had the Hurricane this year.

Nobody cared.

Half the engine is under the cowl. No room at all. This makes a European car look logical and simple to work on.

I'll have to edit a YT video to share. The Tuscon race school, sponsored by Dodge, puts on drift ride alongs. Last year they had Hellcats smelling of E85 and a two hour wait.

This year they had Charger EVs getting hot lapped and plugged into a diesel generator and no line or crowd.

My 4 year old even said "those aren't race cars" and ran off when someone started revving a Pantera in the distance. Last year we had to watch for 20 minutes. The EVs sound comical with their Kazoo exhaust that's barely audible over tire the screeching.

I didn’t realize the new chargers were hatchback, that’s kind of neat.

Insanity. I remember when we would bitch about the Cobra being 3600lbs or whatever it was. And the Trans Am was like 3500.

Exactly. I remember people crying about heavy the Supra, R32 and 300ZX where... Like 3,400lbs.

Now anything under 5k is like "oh that's not bad".

I was just looking at last gen Hellcat Chargers. One of the cheaper ways to get to 200MPH..... It's probably a decent comfortable car that gets sh1tty mileage....

Hey... at least the EV version doesn't sound like an injured air cooled VW on 3 cylinders (Subaru).

GM has been stuffing half of the engine under the cowl since 1994. Nothing new there. I've seen a couple of the EV Chargers in the wild. It wasn't until I saw the emblem that I knew what I was looking at.

Given weight and aero I feel a Corvette would reach 200 easier, no?

Or just build a top land speed Mustang.

Fast, but ugly. I don’t know if this body style can recover from the EV madness from which it was hatched.

Actually you would be surprised on the mpg if you drive normal.
Daily drove a 2016 Charger for 3 years. I got 17-18mpg mixed driving almost identical or slightly better than my 2 Rams that were dailys.
I turned it in with 178mph on the counter.
Best highway cruiser and never stopped pulling.
