Who doesnt love a good Cobra R clone?..... how about a clone so close to OEM you can hardly tell the difference between the two.

Ive been on this build for roughly two years now.....figured id start a build thread over her for those who havent been following along on facebook, will try to start from the beginning and post often, catching back up to speed

For now, lets kick this off with a few pictures of the car when i FIRST started on it.

Picked the car up from a individual in Pasadena TX a little over 2 years ago

The car itself went through TWO builds.... i finished the first build in a few months, and wasnt happy with it. I had fibally decided the R theme build needed to come all the way back down and be built back up correctly, with OEM R' parts and attention to detail like no other clone.

Here are a few shots of it being built up the first go around IMG_20190708_100812_980.jpg IMG_20190914_200121_372.jpg IMG_20191027_205705_602.jpg

It was at this point, i decided to strip it down to bare shell and start all over, also started sourcing and collecting oem 00' R parts all over the country

Common problem here. I gave up on pics here long ago. The workaround is to use a photo hosting site like postimages.org.

As an owner of a 2000 Cobra R, I’ve been asked if clones bother me... the answer is not in the least. It doesn’t affect me whatsoever and I actually appreciate the time/effort/skill that it takes to create a clone like this. Nice work David!

It was at this point ^ pictured above, where i decided to strip the whole car down to bare shell and build it again.

Also the time i started sourcing and collecting as many oem 00' R parts that i could

OP, this comment was not a dig at you. It's an inside joke for members on here and it's directed to someone else who decided to cut up his original 00R. Lots of opinions on whether an original 00R should be cut up or not.

Thank you for posting your build here. Believe it or not a lot of folks do not do social media such as Facebook. So, posting here is the only way we could see your build.

Lastly, I have nothing against clones. I enjoy when someone takes their Mustang and modifies it to their liking. And paying homage to an original Ford creation is A OK in my book!
