I just started plugging in my iPhone to the USB ports (both the one in the console box and near the shifter) to use the Apple car play features in the last 3 to 4 weeks. Since then my phone battery died and the front camera quit. The battery got to the point where it would go from 100% to dead in a couple of hours. Then, after I had the battery replaced, the front camera quit. I have noticed that the phone gets unusually hot while plugged it, and when the front camera quit the phone was very hot around the camera lens.
Is anyone else having issues with the USB ports and / or Apple car play?
I have stopped using the USB ports for now, and I will end up getting a new phone since the camera is broke. It is possible that my phone is just old and needs replaced, but i am concerned that the USB ports at the very least exaggerated the problems and at worst fried my phone.
