Hey guys, wanted to start a thread to see what all has been learned about improving the mod motors overall capabilities. Instead of it being spread over multiple decades of some now long forgotten forum posts maybe some can post what they have or haven’t tried and what worked to improve the overall drivability/survivability of high dollar or even slightly stock builds.

Topics can range from fuel choice, porting and head work, induction types (since the gen 5 whipple shows that times are still changing), ECU’s, cams, etc.
This is becoming more important as some older products that were great are being phased out as the mod motors age while conversely some are starting to now support them.
I’m sure some know that the mod motor is still used in hyper cars and that specific company was touting they got a N/A 5.0 modular to 600hp on 91. I’m sure some have done that in the aftermarket well before they did. So surely the motors can still advance more.
