Sorry but the search function isn't working for me. Every time I search for something it just gives me an error.

Is there a difference between the BA2400 and the BA2600? It seems the 2400 has been discontinued? I have found a used 2400 pretty cheap so just wondering. What HP limitations on the 2400?

Thanks for any info.

They use to make the SCT 2400 and SCT2800. They stopped making both and now make the SCT2600 and SCT3000. I made 650 on my SCT2400 before switching over to a JLT 110mm with GT500 Electronics to get in the upper 700s.

You will peg the 2400 before the 2600.

Ok, so the 2600 is a better maf than the 2400. 650 hp is quite a bit more than I am looking at so it seems the 2400 would be adequate. Are there tuning concerns with the older 2400? Will tuners be ok with it or would they prefer the newer 2600?

Thanks much for the info!

The 2400 should be just fine and if your tuner has issues than you need to find a better tuner.

I have a 2400 and at 586whp I'm almost pegged. My tuner was surprised. I believe a 2400 is supposed to have been rated for up to 650whp. The 2600 isn't better, just has a higher range. Any tuner that tunes using SCT software should be fine with either.

LOL, I will remember that!

Ok, so not better but has a higher range so able to support more HP, got it.

Thanks guys, all good info.

The 2400/2800 vs 2600/3000 is really a business thing more than anything. Grantenelli designed the 2400/2800, Hatachi manufacturered and it SCT branded it. Some bad blood a la Redbull Reno went down and they split. The SCT 2600/3000 are made by PMAS now I believe. Grantenelli still sells 2400/2800 new under their name, made by Hatachi.

I ordered a SCT 2400 many years ago and it showed up with Grantenelli on it. I'm making 602 with mine right now and my tuner said I have about 25-30 rwhp left in it. I have a BA3000 waiting to go in with my next tune.

So a BA2400 will support 600 hp. If you are planning much higher than that, get a larger maf to begin with.

Good info, thanks. Well I am not planning on more than 600 but we all know how that goes! I do like the VMP TVS blower so who knows. I am looking at $100 for the BA2400 so if I needed to upgrade later I think I could get my $100 back. I will probably go ahead and buy it.Thanks all!

I'm running the 2600 with tvs blower at 19 psi on e85. I have plenty left as my maf counts were only in the 880's.

hp goal is < 700....a mafia and the stock maf works perfectly fine. I believe more cost effective as well. Did the mafia get discontinued? A shame if it did.

Yes, that's the problem. Diablo was purchased by Holley a while ago and no longer makes the MAFia. I have been looking for one of those too. I have a couple BA2600's that I am looking at brand new. Hopefully around $180 so not bad.
