I know a guy at work that tells everybody that his motor in the Mach 1 is the exact same as the 03-04 Cobra motor minus the blower. I did a search but couldn't find much.

I thought the only thing that was the same was the heads, but I just read a motor trend article that said they are the exact same minus the blower. So what is true? Anyone have a list or breakdown of what is the same or different?

Compression and the 03/04 have forged internals. Just a couple things that pop into mind.

The Cobra block is cast iron and is much stronger. Most of the other details have already been mentioned.

i thought the cams were less aggressive on the top end in the mach. and it peaks at different rpms so it cant be the same motor minus a blower

Cams are exactly the same....I didn't know either until I looked it up just now.

If you really want to know ALL the differences the Eaton conversion list on the registry will tell you. it's 80 plus parts that are different from the Terminator to the Mach.

I thought the mach had basically the same engine as the mercury marauder, similar intake cams as the 5.4L navigator, and the same heads as the terminator.
