Starting next saturday, myself and my 2 kids will embark on a 3500 mile 8 day journey(trip of misery?) They are 11 and 7. The oldest is a girl, the youngest a boy. They are flying into Washington DC from Seattle and we are driving back to Seattle in my 2018 Mustang GT. My oldest will ride up front giving my youngest the whole back seat for room. I am posting this in pics and vids because I will update the thread with shots from the trip. A few rules for the trip 1) Enjoy our selves, no schedule. 2) No eating at chain restaurants. All meals are going to be mom and pop type small local joints. Its more fun that way 3) If you wanna see something, say something, and we'll stop. This post is just an outline of the trip. Day 1 and Day 2 are below. I will be driving from Norfolk next Saturday to Dulles to get the kids and then to our hotel. We will probably wander DC a bit, but not much. They just spent a week in DC last year with me. Day 2, we are driving to Louisville along this route. No idea what the plan is other than driving this day. Its a long drive of about 560 miles. We'll stop if we see anything cool, but no plans. Day 3 is Louisville to Kansas City. We are stopping in STL to visit the arch. Again, another very long day, 500+ miles. No plans on this day other than the arch. Day 4 and 5. Kansas City to Sioux Falls and Sioux Falls to Keystone South Dakota. No plans between KC and Sioux Falls. We are going to do some sight seeing in Sioux falls and visit a friend, but that's the extent. From Sioux Falls to Keystone we will be checking out the badlands and anything else we see along the way. Day 6 and 7 Day 6 starts in keystone with us going to Mount Rushmore and hanging out. From there we drive into Wyoming to our next destination in Cody. Along with visiting some of my relatives on the way that live in Gillette. Day 7 will be spent driving through yellowstone, seeing the geysers and all the beautiful sights that the park contains. Ending in Bozeman Mt Day 8 Is driving from Bozeman to Spokane Wa. With stops at the Lewis and Clark Caverns along with the Bannick Ghost town. We'll crash in spokane, visit a few friends and then the last day is just driving home. If you know of anything along this route that is a must see, let me know. If you live along this route and wanna grab some food, let me know. Thoughts?
