I'm trying to debadge my 5.0 badges so I can plastidip them. It's a 2011, can someone explain or link a video on how to do so without messing up the paint

Use some fishing line or something similar and pull it up and down behind the emblem against the car. There are two "pegs" if you will that hold the emblem in place on the car so you will have to work the fishing line from both sides. Once it's off use some Goo Gone to get the glue off the paint.

Yup some fishing line. I used 4lb which was too weak so I had to double up. Slide it behind the badge and move up and down rapidly while applying a little side to side force. On the left side, the pegs will be at the top and bottom of the 5. On the right, the pegs will be on the 0. The goo was weird for me. On one side, it came off with my finger nails while on the other it was much stickier and required a lot of time. In the end, you will need a replacement badge or have the holes filled. The pegs are about 1.2" apart. My badges barely cover them and are actually a tiny bit exposed at the bottom.

Heat gun (be careful) and rubbing alcohol for residue.

What color are you plastidipping?

I would rather pay the $6 and avoid the masking and cleanup/overspray. Plus I like the red on the. Between the 5 and 0.

To each is own of course.

Not really lol to remove the old emblem you need to buy fishing wire and some glue remover which will cost more than $6. And peeling plasti dip is MUCH easier than removing the glue and cleaning it up. And in the end, now you have two 5.0 emblems you have laying around.

Plasti dip it
