I'm looking at getting a mail-order tune from Don LaSotta but I'm going to need to send him some data logs from my E85 setup. Need to know a few things:

1. Will the new Zietronix zt-3 9-pin serial output plug into the serial input of the XCal2?

2. Will this set up effectively data log for E85?

3. I have an old 12v power cord from a cell phone charger, would it be possible to splice the power wires for the zt-3 to this power adapter?

xcal 2 if like a xcal 3 is a 6 pin firewire connection. and there is no 9 pin firewire cable
as far as datalogging E85- there is no difference here. you either can collect data to record or not- fuel is of no consequence

You can input the 0-5V analog output from the unit into your tuner via the Firewire. As mentioned , there is no need. It is just a steady value. Now wiring in a wideband would be useful. That's what I've done. Just tell your tuner what percentage of Ethanol you logged with if he wants to know.
