I love going to Darlington when I have a hot rod with me. Unfortunately for me, I've had to bring the family car to Mustang Week the past few years so we just use Thursday as a "date night." But EVERY year I (or a traveling buddy with me) have a hot rod, we go to Darlington. 1.5 hours isn't a big deal to alot of people. I understand if you aren't big into drag racing, or you live close to a 1/4-mile track at home. But 1/4-mile tracks aren't necessarily around every corner, and there are less every year. The nearest 1/4-mile track to my town is 4+ hours away. So driving 1.5 hours to Darlington during Mustang Week is a BIG deal to take advantage of for alot of people who don't live close to a 1/4-mile track. We jump at the chance. I know that the track prep isn't always the best, and the weather is always HOT, so you don't run your best ET... but everyone there is racing on the same track and I'm there to kick as many people's asses as possible! Plus, alot of the people I see blaming their poor 60's on track prep couldn't drive a sharp stick up a hooker's ass.
