why are you guys cutting your springs?
Because the only aftermarket springs better than cut stockers are H&R race. A lot of people cut springs on Cobras and are very pleased with the results and also saved a little money.

2 bolts on each side is easier than messing with a spring compressor IMO.

If thats what you think you should invest in some better tools...

You drop an internal spring compressor in, you put an impact wrench on the compressor nut, and you pull the trigger...

10 seconds later you throw a chain around it... 1 min later you pull it out...

If they are progressive rate it is just stupid to cut them... If they're linear fine.... I have H&Rs, so I'm all set:-D

What do you guys think about 3/4 of a coil all the way around? That should keep the back slightly higher, correct?

No. 3/4 all the way around will leave the car level. If you want the car a little higher in the back then I would go with 1/2 in the rear and 3/4 in the front.

I reinstalled my IRS(swapped back from a stick axle) and let it hang down in the rear set the springs in there perch and raised it back up with a 300lb buddy in the trunk. Worked great.

Spring Compressor FTL!

From start to finish I can have the rear springs changed in under two hours. I have tried to do it several times with spring compressors, and it always is a PITA. Dropping the rear IRS is very easy. If you can install a catback you can drop the IRS.

Great stance! I love the way it looks... I've got the same tires on my cobra, and would like to know what springs you've got installed front/rear, and if you've had any problems with the tires rubbing inside the fenders?

Spring compessors are to dangerous....I have done it both ways and dropping the IRS is the way to go. Wait until that spring compressor breaks or lets loose with the spring...LOOK OUT!!

Stock (cut) springs on the rear, and Eibach pro-kit springs on the front. Thanks :) I did have the rear tires lightly rub once, but this was with a full tank of gas, and two passengers. The main reason for the run is because of my 1/2" wheel spacers with my 10.5" wheels. I am going to buy a set of 3/8ths inch spacers from Lethal soon, and that should fix the situation permanently. I just barely did catch the inside of the lip. If I had the 3/8ths installed it would not have touched at all.

Just did this the other night. Bottoms. Where the coil is not flat if that helps. Went with MM c/c plates and their alum rack bushing while I was right there. Dropping the IRS at the rear two bolts FTW! Took me less than 45 min's on the lift to take out, cut, and back in. And a beer too...
