Over the course of my start, stop, start again build I've had time to examine my intercooler setup my my little 2.1 setup.
Making comparisons between what I have and what's available to the 03-04 Cobra guys my setup comes up as lacking in the water flow department. To be more honest it's pathetic.
This has started me down the path of trying to improve the flow. One easy and obvious way is to drill out the transfer tubes that connect the intercooler to the manifold. They are horribly restrictive. But this will only do so much.
This leads me to look into other options such as aftermarket intercoolers available for the lightning. This would require heavy modifications to the manifold which I am not a fan of.
A custom setup may be in the cards IF I can find someone to actually do the work AND not tell me it will be in my hands between now and my death!
So now with all that BS above here's the question.
Who out there can do the the work?
Can anyone make that suggestion to me?
I initially thought about J2FAB but with the delivery issues he's having he is out. But I don't know anyone else that could do the work and make it right.
Yes the easy thing is to ditch the 2.1 but that's not happening because I live in commifornia and need the carb sticker to register my car. I'd happily go tork tech with a 2.3 if I could.
So what do you got?
