    Wife and I are looking at plans to build a new home. Anyone have any nice floor plans that include badass garage setups? Looking for 2500-4000 sq ft home, 5 plus garage, nice outdoor area with a pool. What have you guys built?

    This should be a good thread!!

    Can you pull the red Roush out without moving any of the other cars? It looks tight.

    I've only ever had detached garages, not sure I would want an attached one for the purpose of working on stuff. If I was going to build a house, I would build a house and then put up as big of a pole barn as I could afford to insulate, climate control, and finish out with great lighting and electric.

    Yes, it isn’t an issue. The yellow challenger would most likely be an issue, as it’s the widest car in there. Other issue is the longest car in there is at the front. It’s all temporary at the moment, until the lift is installed. Then the more permanent arrangement will done.

    It sure is. The garage is about as big as the living space (dimensionally). Dream garage there!

    I don't have any plans or pictures for you but I suggest having a nice garage AND a detached shop if you like to wrench.

    The king of the castle needs his own space!

    I've had both and prefer an attached garage at this point.

    At my current house, the boiler is in the garage and keeps the garage warm and dry which is great for storing the car in the winter. The con is that the utilities eat up more garage space than I'd like.

    If I was building a house, I'd definitely consider how to keep it both spacious and warm/cool throughout the seasons for storage & wrenching.

    Thats why i wanted an attached for convenience. Im going to separate the garage with insulation and double layer sheetrock on both sides of the wall. Also doubles as a rated firewall

    Agreed. So you can just walk out and get in your car.

    Detached = projects, storage, etc
