You can run a T56 from the 03/04 Cobra cars, but it will need an input shaft upgrade at least, and a few other things. The T56 Magnums are good past 700hp/tq.
Sorry I'm late to the party here.. I just saw this thread. Lots of good info, and a lot of missleading/missinformed Coyote information (specifically the broad strokes about them lacking durability/dependability, they are a very durable engine). As for the Control Pack for Gen3, there is a gentleman on a bunch of Facebook forums that is doing some amazing wiring on the Gen1 through Gen3 engines, and the 10R80 trans as well if anyone wants to go with the 10 speed trans. Look him up, his name is Brian Tyler Brown, and his company is My-Ty Motorsports. He will probably be 1/3 of the cost of the Ford Racing Control Pack. Additionally, the idea of running your T45 behind a Gen 3 Coyote (or any Gen Coyote for that matter) is straight crazy. You spend all of that precious dough on the engine, you will want to step up to at least a TKO600, but preferably a T56 Magnum, the first time you hit 3rd hard in the T45, it will break. You can run a T56 from the 03/04 Cobra cars, but it will need an input shaft upgrade at least, and a few other things. The T56 Magnums are good past 700hp/tq. The TKO will hold up to the power just fine, but can give you struggles when shifting above 6500. Some folks have had good experience shifting them above that, but a number of people have experienced hard shifts if modifications aren't made. Hope that helps. I've swapped Coyotes into Fox Body's, and now a Classic Mustang, and will be doing more in the future.... its a great engine, you will love it!
