My two granddaughters are finishing nursing programs at different universities. Both say that wearing masks all the time is not healthy. For one thing, they inhibit the body's nature process of developing antibodies when exposed to viruses. That is just one reason why some resist wearing them. They also affect your breathing. Climb a high set of stairs and notice how much more strained your breathing is. Fact of the matter is unless a law across the land is passed requiring the wearing of masks, with the threat of arrest (or steep fine) if caught without wearing one, we're going to see people choosing NOT to wear them for multiple personal (and valid) reasons. Some of those reasons are very valid.

I'd love to know more about how close we are to a proven and safe vaccine.

That's probably my biggest issue with it. First, we've never used or been told we should use masks in this Country. Not during any other pandemic, not during even the worst flu season, never. You'd see a few here and there who were, probably recommended by their doctor because they have some other serious underlying condition and are just doing what they can to PROTECT THEMSELVES.

Second, we were adamantly told for months not to wear them. "They offered no benefit, were a false sense of security, and could actually be more harmful." There's even plenty of studies from years past backing that statement up, but despite all that, they did a complete 180 overnight. All of a sudden masks are the things that were going to save the earth's population, other countries do it, but most importantly "you could be asymptomatic and it's a **symbol** of the right thing to do" (-Fauci). A symbol. That doesn't sound very science based to me. So the "top infectious disease expert" TELLS us it's a SYMBOL of the right thing to do, yet we're supposed to believe all the crap others are spewing about why we should be wearing them (mostly..."The science is there bro, wear your mask". Then Fauci comes out, says "well I only said that before so everyone didn't go buy up all the masks and leave health care workers with none". So he lied, he admitted he lied. Or did he? Maybe he's lying now. Either way he's a liar, and I don't know about the rest of you, but I was taught to not trust liars.

I thought I had seen a picture of a news paper from the Spanish Flu days saying masks were mandated. However, I bet the masks available at the time were worse than cloth masks today.

I'm not advocating for masks, I agree on the flipping of the mask narrative. It is not so much the government that has me concerned, but the populace of mask nazis that are swallowing the narrative and attacking fellow citizens (both physically, verbally, and through social media).

Here is the problem, they can claim anything. Doesn’t make it true, it is just more BS for people looking for what they want to hear. Which has been a problem on both sides.

Yes I thought, from the sources I had, that this was going to be far worse. I seem to be wrong at this point. The biggest issue, from what I can see with my own two eyes, is hospital capacity in regards to equipment and supplies needed for this. Remember, total bed number does not equate to capability to respond to this event.

I have hospitals nearing capacity that I deal with. One of my coworkers has a facility that is black on supplies and equipment. Now, that is not fully a CoVid caused issue as again, the healthcare system is designed to run close to margins since it maximizes profits.

I think we need to almost ignore infection rate and look at hospitalization and more specific, ICU admissions. Who cares what the infection rate is if nobody has to be admitted to the ICU?

The last issue I see is that every aspiring Social Media Bobblehead wants to put out videos, posts, tweets to get their 15 seconds of fame.

I think schools need to be in person this fall. These teachers crying is ****ing hilarious. Waaaaaa, I e had 5 months off and I don’t want to go back. Waaaaa! The Ronas! Waaaaa! The guidelines are ridiculous and impractical. That is why my wife and I have decided to home school for the foreseeable future. Plus we get the added bonus of no indoctrination into Communist it r Socialist Youth.

I think I said in here earlier that this was going to be like a roller coaster with ups and downs. Yet our leaders at every level have failed to make real plans to get through this. Instead it has be turned into a political weapon. I feel that our leaders should not get paid for each day that any part of the area they reside in is forced to be closed.

I agree with everything here. Unfortunately the media sets the conventional wisdom with no context. The weasely politician then follow the conventional wisdom because they are not real leaders. The media truly is the enemy of the people.

My hatred for demonrats has reach infinite expansion. Nothing has ever been this politicized and weaponized against one man, Trump. OMG, think of the children, OMG, what if it were your children, everyone panic, the sky is falling, holy shit. What if you could prevent one person from dying by wearing a mask. The hysteria and irrational behavior during this shitshow is astounding. I love how you assholes are so righteous, yet, in 2009, ****ing crickets. Where was the thread about the 2009 kungflu? OMG, this is 1000 times more viral, look at how many people have been killed by Trump. **** all of your bullshit. You bottom dwelling assholes are the reason we can't have nice shit, you are the problem. Lies, deception, deceit, delusion are all tools of tyrannical fascist. Throw in condescension for the hell of it. Spare me your sanctimonious horseshit.

I've been saying this since the hysteria started. I flew to and from the EPICENTER at the time (Mexico) and barely heard a damn thing about it. Everyone was way more worried about the cartels killing my wife and I than the pandemic that was going on. I've mentioned it to a ton of people over the last several months and hardly anybody even remembers it. Mind blowing.

    not at my post...

I certainly take it with a grain of salt, but there is no denying there is a lot of aid money at stake for every positive result. I am more inclined to believe joe sixpack over our politicians and the msm...
