Im in the middle of doing a swap in my 1990 Lx and I'm getting ready to start plumbing cooling system and I was wanting to know if you have to keep the bypass for system to cool correctly or if I can block it off.
im using a 2011 out of a F150..., thanks in advance for the replies

I'm not sure what you are referring to. The thermostat housing on the front left of the engine?

Yes, Where the upper hose comes out and toward radiator there is a plastic Y , You have hose that goes to Radiator off of Y and hose that goes to By-pass( Thermostat housing).
I'm trying to figure out if you have to keep this hooked up or if it can be blocked off?

I would guess the bypass is more about getting the engine to operating temperature sooner and less about cooling. But that is just a WAG.

Why do you want to block it?
