I pulled into the garage yesterday after an hours drive. I shut it off and coolant came out of the cap on the degas tank (a couple of cups). I let it cool overnight. This morning I checked all the fuses under the hood and inside the car, and none were blown. I can spin the fan by hand easily. I started the car and let it warm up. The fan did not work as it heat up and then slowly overheated. While it was heating up, I put the ac on high and the fan did not work.

So, I decided to try and reload my tune with my SCT scanner. The cooling fan started when I started loading the tune and ran until the tune was reloaded. I started the car again and it reached temperature, but the fan did not start. It slowly began to overheat again and I shut it down. I have the Richie thermostat and the fan is supposed to turn on around 170*. How can the fan run when loading the tune, but not when reaching operating temperature? Could the temperature sensor be bad? It is recording overheating on the idiot gauge.

I had one of those big ass fuses blow on me years back when my fan went bad. I think it’s a fuse for the CCRM but the CCRM can go bad and the fuse would be fine.

Since the fan runs while I load a tune, I think it is the CCRM. I will pull the tire and inner fender and see if mice had at the wiring or if the CCRM is shot.

I know water can get in it also and rust out the components. Let us know
