It's not the cobra but it's an update. New daily. 2007 CBR 1000RR. I'm gonna try to get some things rolling on the cobra next week or at least by the weekend after this one coming up.

Well this has come to an end.. I'm selling the short block and the cobra once it's rebuilt. As well as what's left of the bike.
If anyone is interested in the block it's $4k + shipping and all the info on it is in this thread.
The cobra will then be fully rebuilt and either kept compound or dropped back to ported eaton only and sold. If someone wants the compound kit it's for sale obo.

If your local or want a cobra in a custom color or custom setup to your specs let me know. The car needs to be painted and engine rebuilt. Most likely it'll go back black and just .020 over cp pistons or something.

Also if you want a 07' CBR1000RR I got a 70% together bike i'm parting out or same as the cobra I can rebuild the bike to new spec for you in what ever color you want.

I don't ever see myself buying another mustang. I've had 5 and it's time to move on to something else.
One of the biggest things I enjoyed about the mustang is wrenching on it. I don't know if I'll ever be able to do that again and I don't need any crazy toys right now so off it goes.

It's been a while.. Almost a year actually. Time to get back in the game.
I kept the bike. Have had lots of fun with it. I also kept the cobra and the engine. Time to have fun with that.

I'm fairly certain I'll be taking the super charger off and redesigning the turbo kit to just run the single borg warner on the beefy engine I've assembled.
I don't have any special goals right now. Just gonna have fun and enjoy myself this time around.
5.0 stroker, 78mm borg warner, and e85. I'm hunting around the forums as I've been out of the game for a bit to collect info on anything new that might have come out.

Currently in the processing of disassembling the old motor and swapping parts to the new one as well as checking everything to make sure in all this time everything still works.. heh.

If anyone wants to toss some links up that might be helpful I'd much appreciate it. I'll be lurking around.

oh ya.. and the bike. Looked red & white tribal for a bit then swapped over to the sharpie design. Might wrap the cobra in the same sharpie design.

Hope you make better decisions while riding this time around...

Tueday April 12th in the early afternoon I was riding my bike. I was wearing jeans, a t-shirt, and body armor over the shirt as well as a helmet and gloves.
My buddy picked up my bike from the impound and took these pics the next day.

They didn't recover my armor or left glove but they cut my pants and shirt off me. This was all that was left. Blood and dirt on my helmet and necklace and watch pin broke in half. I slid on my face after I ate it apparently do to the wicked scrape marks and cracks on my visor and front of my helmet as well as the cuts on my neck.

These are daily pictures of my recovery from after surgery to a week later as they removed my staples to 2 weeks after when I removed the butterflys.

-updated-

Also as of yesterday I'm able to lift my left arm over my head. If you've been reading along I wasn't ever supposed to be able to do that. If I was at all it would be 9-12 months. It's been 6 weeks.

Haven't heard from you in a while and all this time I thought you were avoiding me. I'm glad you're OK. I've had my share of "get-offs" but was never injured to the extent you were. Last episode was a high side from too much power in a turn on cold tires that broke my collar bone. Here is a vid of riding The Angeles Crest Highway about 10 minutes form my home in Los Angeles

Motorcycle Racing at Angeles Crest Hwy 2, Part 2 - YouTube

I've taken my Cobra up there but it's even more dangerous in a car (bikers get killed up there on a regular basis) but this road is a blast on a bike and it goes on for 55 miles

Living so close to this kind of road is not good! I was up there every week and know every curve which gives you a false sense of security. I knew it was only a matter of time. Low and behold I stuffed my TL1000R into a guardrail fending off a 996 (thank god for Vanson road race leathers ).

Ditch the bike keep the Cobra. I'm sure your injuries make it more difficult but you will get bored after a while not wrenching on something.

lol naw man I wasn't avoiding anyone. Hadn't even looked at the forum for half a year.
Just wasn't in the cards to work on the car and it burns when you read about others enjoying something you love knowing you can't do it.

I love the bike. Don't think I'll ever sell it. Unless the new BMW was in the cards.
One thing nice about the bike is I can go as fast as the cobra for a fraction of the cost and not get stuck in traffic. Plus you can take the entire thing apart in a morning and have it back together in a afternoon by yourself.

One thing I don't like is getting stuck in the rain with it. I take it to work fairly often and at times I gotta come back in a down pour. Wishing I hadn't brought it then lol.

I have pins. I have scars. Worst of them came from crashing sport bikes. You are going to feel that shit and fight it for the rest of your life. I just read this entire thread and I mean no disrespect when I tell you to sell that ****ing bike. From what I've gathered you have a hard time not going stupid fast. The bike tried to kill you once. Next time it may get the job done. Doesn't look to me like you've got the shoulders to be taking another fall and if you live through the next one you may wish you hadn't. Ten years ago the little breaks and such didn't hurt. Scars were cool. Every ****ing day now when I try to do this or that and it hurts I think "dammit I wish I'd never done ________ (insert stupid here)".
I still love sport bikes and could spend hours remembering the rides and good times. But I'm also lucky to be here after some of the stupid things I did.
Oh btw who were the douchebags that started trashing up your thread a page or two back? Something to be said for the fact that you literally built your turbo kit. Seems like nobody anymore knows how to build anything. Just dial a number and give em the visa card. Then pay somebody else to install the stuff you bought. Then go brag about how you "built" your car lol. I looked into having somebody tackle some projects on my car simply because I now have more money than time. Didn't used to be that way. Ultimately I couldn't do it. I'll make time one of these days to do it all myself like I always have.

I dont think trying to tell him to sell the bike is the right solution. He probably loves the hell out of his bike maybe just be more aware is all he can do. People often find that if they love something the pain is worth it, Bull riders for example break tons of bones but have a love for the sport so when they heal they are back on that bull. Pro athletes are another example too. I live my bike dont think i would ever stop riding. My dad lost 3 fingers in a crash and he still rides, wasnt his fault though girls on her phone hit him.

I love my bike too. Sold my last sport bike four years ago and still miss it like crazy. Bought a brand new drz 400 this spring. Cruising the back roads, across the fields, and through the pastures scratches my itch without the risks a sport bike brings. I get to enjoy riding with zero traffic around me and the only risk is if I fail to do my job as a rider. I had six sportbikes and put probably 50k mikes on them. Totaled one, beat the hell out of another in a low side (damn chip seal on a corner got me), and had good luck with the other four. Everybody I knew and used to ride with wore full gear all the time but we still got hurt. Every one of us ended up with broken bones and busted bikes. Its part of it and a part that was no longer worth it to me.
Was trying to convey to the OP that the things you can ignore at 20 come back and hurt again down the line. Those pins and such in his arms and shoulders are going to be there to remind him forever. Every time the weather changes they will ache. When its cold they will ache. When you slam into something accidentally it'll make you piss your pants. Sometimes its worth knowing what's down the road so you can make an informed decision what route to take.

I know all about the aching from my many surgeries from sports injuries, ive had my knees put back together, my fingers look funny from being broken many times, scars down my sides, nerve damage in my left leg. It was worth it to me because i was doing something i loved. The OP just needs to be as safe as he can because thats all he can do, im just not the type of person who talks people out of something they love i just say go for it.

I get where Trueblue is coming from and appreciate the wisdom. My arm hurts every day, a lot at night and the morning because I end up sleeping on it weird.
It's a constant reminder. Slammed it into things and just wanted to lay down and cry. Wanted to reach around and put my arm around my girl when she's on my left, wince in pain and struggle to do the rotation around.
Will I be able to pickup my kid when I have one and he's growing up in 10 or 15 years? Dunno. But it's a sobering thought. One I think about daily.

Going back to the cobra though. I'm putting together a small "fortune" in the next coming weeks to get it finished and put back together the way it should have been done the first time. Spending the money is easy. Making it is the challenge. lol.
Could still use some info on the fuel system though. Be nice to find some injectors that weren't 2 grand.

You seem like a good guy and I'm glad you weren't offended and maybe "got" what I was trying to say. My car and bikes used to mean everything. Now I have a little buddy that calls me daddy and the car is all but forgotten.
Nuff dumb shit about life. Moar project plz!

Why so big? Obviously it's for E85

I have no experience running E85 but having injectors with such a big orifice is likely to make accurate fuel metering at part throttle a bit challenging.

Sounds like an 1100 hp compound boost engine wasn't enough and now your getting "greedy" :-D
