Comments on stroker kits?

Im looking at the SHM300 Stroker kit for an 01 Cobra. The kit makes 298 ci, any comments? Would it be worth waiting until August to get the Mod MAx kit 5.0L and 302 ci? Any comments or opinions.

Depends on what you plan on doing with it. From talking to SHM last last year they told me that the pistons would only hold up to a max of 14 pounds of boost, if you plan on going that route. If you do plan on forced induction that's something to consider.

Also, do you mean the Ford Modular five liter block? If you do I would get that if going with any type of power adder over the stroker kit.

The Mod Max kit is a stroker kit, strokes the 281ci 4.6L to a 302ci 5.0L.

I'm not sure of the differences in quality between the two, but I do know having a 5.0L Modular Cobra would great. Just being able to say "That's my 01 Cobra Five-O" would be great!
