I am running American Racing Long Tube Headers - 1 7/8" x 3" - 3" X-pipe with no cats. My 2012 Boss302S is not street legal. It was built by Ford Racing for the SCCA World Challenge Series. The car dyno'ed 424Hp and 385 Torque straight from the factory.

I recently installed Stage 3 Comp Cams in my Boss302S. This is along with Cobra Jet Intake Manifold, Throttle Body, and CAI from Ford Racing. I also have long tube headers on the car. I had VMP tune the car last weekend at the Track Guys event at TWS. I am pleased with the results of 495 HP at the rear wheels. I did lose some low in torque.

Remove the VCT limiters on the intake cam and request an update from Justin@VMP. Your midrange will greatly improve!

Yes, I have heard that you can get better mid range torque by removing the VCT limiters on the intake cam. However, I am currently running 4.10 gears and run above 4000 rpm most of the time. I will eliminate the Vct limiters when I get a chance and get the car retuned.

Jabooh1. I had a personal friend install the cams . He is a great mechanic and just works on his race car and helps a few friends. The shops around Houston wanted too much for my blood. I am sure Houston Performance or Kenny Bumbera would do the job for you. Paul Janus at Tommy Vaughn would give you some good prices on the Ford parts.

The mods list is

Ford Racing Cobra Jet cams M-6550-M50BEXH and M-6550-M50BINT
Ford Racing Cobra Jet Manifold M-9424-M50CJ
Ford Racing Cobra Jet Throttle body M-9926-CJ65 (dual blade)
Ford Racing Cobra Jet CAI M-9603-M50CJ
Bassani Xhaust long tube headers
Bassani Xhaust X Pipe with test pipe adaptors
Bassani Xhaust race catback

I picked up the car today from Cunningham Motorsports in Murietta.

Ryne is an amazing tuner and he has the car running like a dream.

The baseline was 434RWHP and 354RWTQ on a Mustang Dyno The headers and full exhaust were installed before we got a baseline with out.

With the Cams, Manifold, Intake and TB the care made 473RWHP and 369RWTQ.

the car pulls very hard and sounds amazing. I was smiling ear to ear on my way home.

If you are looking to stay all motor I would highly suggest these mods.

Stay tuned for a full write up on www.stangtv.com for dyno videos and install tech.

FYI - you might want to ask Shaun about his AED tune with the cj cams.. my powerband looks much different than yours with the same basic combination. I have a lot more midrange and high rpm torque and its a Mustang dyno so that shouldn't be a factor. He has the exact specs ready to go from my car and it might be worth the $ to gain more HP w/o much work.

I do have E85 and I know that makes for some of the difference but the torque curve shape is much different.

Great car and Mods, FYI I don't think the 10-20HP would be seat of the pants, but the midrange torque increase might be.

I appreciate your input. But I am very happy with the outcome. No need to start a tuner war here. Ryne knows his shit and he is good at it. Sean has a Dyno Com non loaded dyno. And e85 will allow more timing changing the curve. So there really isn't a comparison here.
