Cobra + Engine Light + Smog Question?

I have a 99 cobra with a ati p600b s/c and an 03 cobra tank and pumps. after the pump/tank swap i got a engine light and pulled the code P455 which is a gross leak in evap emission control. I went to have it smoged b4 the light came on and it passed everything but the DRIVING CYCLE. The guy said that the driving cycle was incomplete. I drove it around and the light came on.

I wanted to know if I were to turn the light off and clear the code, then take it to get retested will it pass the OBDII part and will they know it had a engine light on? Thanks for the help??

If you clear any trouble codes yourself with a scan tool, the computer will automatically set a p1000 ( not all tests complete) code. The only way to clear a p1000 code is by driving the car in such a way that all the computer obd tests complete.
