I am thinking of installing stage 1 cams on my 01 cobra
What are the advantages and disadvantages to this mod?

I have a set of 98 cobra cams how do these compare to the stage 1
Thanks Woody

Stage 1 tells us nothing, "stage" is a marketing term. You would have to actually tell us what cams specifically you want to install.

Also giving us no info as far as what goals you have with the car, if you are going to have a shop do it or are you going to do it and anything else done to the car.

I will say if you are rolling around on stock suspension, do your suspension first.

Don’t waste your time or money on off the shelf cams.

First off, figure out goals for the car. Stay NA, turbo, centri, PD, nitrous?

Then go from there.

Unless you just want a sound and not performance increase.

When I had my cams apex’s out I supplied the person that put my order in with car weight, trans, RPM limiter, gears, CR, head work, blower, pulley combo, car use, and I believe fuel.

Costs are the same between OTS and custom.

The 96-98 Cams will not provide much of an increase for you. Small, maybe 5hp or so. Degree your stock cams. Then figure out a goal for your car. Then decide whether cams are worth it.
